Population?

Postby Akhilleus » Sat Jul 05, 2014 7:29 am

After some client troubles myself and a friend are enjoying the game as hermits, however I'm just wondering if someone can give me the status of the world?

>World population
>Major factions
>Any recent events
>The future of HNH

If anyone can answer these, that would be extremely helpful!

It's usually safe to assume that current online population * 5 is roughly how many active players you have in the world. This means around 1,000 people are playing this world.
I'm loathe to call any of the current factions major factions for various reasons so I'll avoid answering this question.
The most recent event is that the devs are working on the next game build and will release that when it's ready. Otherwise the big news is that they have refocused their efforts strictly on HnH and have sold their other game, Salem.
The future of Haven is the next game build whenever that comes out. None of us know what that means just yet, just that the game will survive and grow.

Ahh okay. Fair enough. Damn, I thought Salem was pretty cool. Hopefully it flourishes in the hands of the people who bought it.

But it is a relief to hear that all hands are on deck with HnH. Can't wait to see what they do with it.

Just for the record, I find that it's usually closer to a factor of ten.

The current "Major factions" who struggle for power and supremacy would probably be as follows:

- Ocean King (Home of the great megam8s) These guys are winning the war in terms of kills, but little is known about their infrastructure and resource nodes

- Absolute Domination or (A.D.) These guys are probably the best Russian faction in the game, with an almighty law speaker Koya, they were dominant early world but recently have slipped and taken quite a number of falls, in terms of warrior loss and notoriety.

- Rose of Sharon, and their mighty Korean army! Representing the Republic of Korea, these guys control some high quality nodes, they are part of the might Dis empire, but still separate to their own. Recently they've had quite a toll on their warriors and seem to be playing less.

- Dis, Although not officially called Dis, they are a group of players who formed one of the greatest ass-licking, turd sniffing, faggot alliances to ever existed. They consist of a few villages (including Rose of Sharon)

- Emerald City, the peasfool neutral town, run by the gorgeous Emerald. This is the last bastion of hope for the hearthlands, a village that is neutral to all, despite past incidents. They've a mighty infrastructure and are/were home to some of the last great traders, they control a large portion of their supergrid and prefer diplomacy over violence.

I'm sure there are some other factions, while they are active, they mostly choose to steer clear of the fighting and feuding, but don't rule them out, some have mighty infrastructures and decent nodes.

And what about the people that are running 10 or so clients running scripts.
to do with the OP, would it be possible to get an up to date chart of numbers of unique IPs over the last month or so, and if possible some numbers on how many people are multi clienting?

I can't remember where, but somewhere ONE of the devs commented on how the stats on the home page work and it does not count multiclients. You can test it yourself I guess, by running a whole bunch of clients that aren't rendering to see if your country pops up on the list. I tested to see if I could raise the number of Aussie's playing when we rarely make the homepage, but alas it was INEFFECTIVE.

Correct me if I'm wrong =)))))

Ahh yes, some of those names ring a few bells. I'm so stoked to actually get back into this game again. As mentioned I'm very relieved that all hands are on deck here, and also that there are big things happening around the world. It's interesting, being a hermit knowing there's all kinds of shenanigans happening about and that I could easily fall prey to one of them.
