If H&H met Minecraft...

... the result would be one of the best games ever to exist.
Come on, everyone's heard of Minecraft right?
Made by Mojang Specifications (a.k.a Markus Persson [Notch] and a couple other people) and still in alpha.
Completely destructible/rebuildable terrain, crafting table allowing the resources you mine to be converted into items or finished building blocks that allow you to shape the world further.
Already been featured in PC Gamer, Kotaku, Geek.com, Lazygamer, and Joystiq.
Valve gave a reference to it in an official teamfortress2.com blog post.
Now if this wonderful game was mixed with H&H, the result would be EPIC.

I don't like Minecraft's graphics.

I like HnH's graphics.

If HnH was mixed with Minecraft, the result is Dwarf Fortress, disregards that it has no graphics...

Though I'm sure Minecraft is a good game, I must admit I haven't really understood what all the hype is about. Is it really that good? What are the features that you think would mix well with Haven? I'm just curious.

i'm not saying this would isntantly blend with haven naturally or anything, but the freedom minecraft gives you to create whatever you want, and the possibilities for oh so many unique situations, places and whatnot, combined with the persistent, somehow slower world and politics of h&h.

maybe this could be better as a list.

What I like about minecraft:
very free, you can make whatever you want to, you can design your fortresses etc etc etc.
cool 3d world woopwoopwooop voxels

What i like about haven&hearth:
persistent.
a lot of meta game, politics trade etc.
perma death, full loot.

combine these and you just removed me from any kind of future career outside of nerding.

maybe. i never played this baby of 2 cool games. : )

Minecraft & H&H do not differ that much in basic Idea, you have to survive in both of them (In minecraft, you have complete freedom in how you build your shelter for the night when the zombies & bad things come out) and during the day you gather resources & such to survive and make your life during the night more comfortable.
Basically, wherever there is darkness, bad things can spawn, this means you have to find coal and such to light so that during the night you can walk around without fear of baddies, baddies also spawn in dark places during the day, for example, when you're mining you're in complete darkness=baddies. Using torches keeps them at bay.

In H&H you also have to survive, but it's more constant, and less urgent, your biggest fear are other humans...and swimming.

What makes Minecraft so attractive (IMO!!!) is the fact that you have complete! freedom in how you manipulate the earth~terraforming & build stuff. You can create a base of your own design with your own materials no one has ever created.

What makes H&H so attractive (IMO!!) is the complete freedom you have as a character. You can kill and build whatever you want.

Now if you were to put both these great two freedoms together, you have yourself the perfect game, even if the graphics suck ballsack, this would be the kind of game we've all cummed to during the night.
