Waterskins are stupid.

For the same space of a waterskin, I can hold two waterflasks. Waterskin only holds 3.0 liters while two waterflasks hold 4.0 liters. Waterflasks are made from leather, which is easier for a noob to get then a dried cowhide. (Since it involves killing a cow as to any piece of old leather can come from a rabbit skin)

So why do we have them?

One time they are useful is in the first few days of a new world, when you have dried skins, but nobody has learned leather working yet.

How would someone be able to kill a boar/cow when they don't even have leather working? Anyways, leather takes time to make, and for those lazy people, they get a less efficient item that costs twice as much, holds less, and imo is ugly.

But I'm sure someone can get IP to learn Leather Working before the IP to get enough of any combat to kill a cow.

"Cow hide" is a typo/bug. Any dry hide works.

For the record, even though the image shows a dried cowhide, you can make a waterskin out of any dried hide. I have made several using dried rabbit skins.

Waterskins are cool. Haters go hate something else.

Whenever I find myself out in the fields without any q90 water to drink, I get some q10 water from a nearby river. A waterskin, holding 3.0 l, is exactly enough for two full stamina bars @q10. A waterflask holds only one shot and is easier to miss when there's lag. A lot less clickin' with waterskins, I love 'em.
