Bears have a unfair reputation in this game.

They are not that aggressive. Sure they could kill you, but they won't exactly charge you for no reason. With the exception of a few species (grizzlies come to mind), they are generally solitary and hide from humans.

Boars, on the other hand, should be exterminated on sight. Damn pigs.

Bears mostly have a reputation of being fast, big, and delicious. Also of making fine capes and bone saws. I do not think any of these things is particularly untrue, except for the bone saw thing. If anything, boars are more deadly due to how common they are. We need claymores to deal with boar, boar stoppers are the only way to go.

Okay, yes, IN REAL LIFE bears do sometimes get a bum rap. Mostly because stupid Darwin Award contestants think they are just big dumb animals when they are high-level omnivorous predators, nearly as skilled as primates at getting into things. Grizzlies and polar bears are the most aggressive, too (don't let those Coca-Cola ads fool you; polar bears will treat you like a snack if they're hungry).

In H&H, they're terrifying. They can outrun you in most terrain, and do lots of damage. Safest place to be is in a boat, offshore.
