Hello to all the hearthlings out there.

I left this game around February of this year back in world 3, not due to raids, harassment or my character dying though, indeed I was actually a relatively successful hearthling, had a nice palisaded farm in the interior away from opportunistic river cruising raiders with a little cave for future cheese production (it was pretty small and probably didn't have any minerals, still nice though), some healthy chickens and I even started to kill bears and boars like nobodies business, strangely enough I was never once killed either, sure I died but both times I committed suicide in a river.

No, I left for RL reasons, I'm in University and as you can imagine that takes up quite a bit of time and I couldn't justify it to myself that I would spend time playing a game instead of trying to better my future by studying for a test or doing my homework so I decided to call it quits. Unfortunately I never told any of the people I met in the game world about my decision otherwise someone I knew might have made use of my small fortified homestead, but I'm sure the Russian city that was fairly nearby and to my south made good use of what I left behind, or vandalized the holy living shit out of it like they did to my neighbors homestead after he stopped logging on....Another reason for leaving was that I had been hermiting and as a result began to develop a healthy paranoia. Meh, either way, enough dwelling on the past.

This thread is for the posting of general current events, so please, for myself and all those that might be new here or those that have left for an extended period of time, fill us in on what the current situation is like, anything will do, from friendly villages to warring states and the economics of what's hot and what's not. What has your experience playing H&H been like and what are your plans for relative success? Do you like the game or hate it and wish you had never found it?
Are rivers still deathtraps?
Are bears still ornery?
Have trolls become more common?
Is AD still rampaging?
Are there new conflict zones?
New wars and fights brewing?
New strategies and failed ones.

Let this thread be used for the posting of all news worthy and of general interest to the community.....Mods willing.

I hope that this thread turns out not so much a guide as a quick bulletin board for the " what's up" of the Haven and Hearth world.

W3 ended in January, FYI. Maybe that was w4? (You ask about trolls.)

Rivers: Yes and no
Bears: Even more so. Now wildlife can kill you immediately.
Trolls: The forum kind or the green skin grinches that live in mines? Yes? to the former. Not that I'm aware to the latter.
AD: Seems most of them emoragequit when the new world started and they couldn't bot to tens of millions of LP. Some are still around, though.
Conflicts: Check out Congress. Always a hotbed of conflicts and drama!
Strategies: Yeah, a few have changed. Loftar fixed it so hearth vaults aren't so easy to create. You can't bash brick walls (think that was fixed w4, though).

Not sure we need an news thread for the game, though. The Inn and Congress do a pretty good job of that.

The major current events are pretty well covered by the drama threads in congress. Game updates are discussed in their own threads and anything smaller (woo i found some gold, woo i founded a village) is of no interest to anyone, really, and reporting it harms the people involved.

Currently Taar, a group of supposed alts ran by a single farmer, and his Russian allies are causing trouble all over the world. Pandemonium raided some Taar vaults a few weeks back with a wall jump glitch. That's pretty much all that's worth mentioning at this point.
