So are the devs still active?

Postby agentknife » Thu Jul 21, 2011 2:34 am

I really like this game, but I want to know if its going to go anywhere. Are the devs still updating, and how active are they with the game?

No. There will never be any new updates for this game. If that is such a big concern for you, you should just quit playing now. Save the rest of us the misery of reading your horribad thread.

Why is it horribad? There's another thread up in the announcement section discussing exactly why J&L aren't around.

So, confirmed the devs have abandoned, or just after this game comes out they'll be back?

if they have abandoned it, they wouldnt restart the server after a crash.
we can only wait and see. they have their own real life like most of us players do.

about a month after Salem is done there will be a wipe and W6 will begin, and hopefully a new siege system along with many other fixes. Until then expect nothing from the devs besides keeping the server running.

I like how everyone has their own situations in mind for what's going on~
The devs have been focusing on Salem, or so we think they could also just be getting drunk, and haven't been around for at least the last few weeks to update at all. We know that they still have the game in mind and we hope that they have not abandoned their pet project entirely.
Will there be big updates soon? Probably not.
Will there be updates in the future? Probably yes.

There is no confirmation that there will be a wipe after Salem comes out. However, I'm with you in expecting it for the following reason of logic.

Jorb or Loftar one has stated in the past that the only reason they want to reset the world is because of unrecoverable data corruption (end of w3) or implementing new game mechanics that aren't really compatible with the current (end of w4). They have both said that they are going to bring a lot of the designs in from Salem, as well as implement some of the other changes they haven't had time to do. I thus interpret this as "We're going to do a reset as soon as we get the code in place."

How soon.... well, could be a month, could be 3-6 months. I'm not going to hold my breath. From my experience, the time after the release of the project is nearly as busy as the weeks beforehand to deal with all the bugs that pop up.
