Full Change / Tradition

Postby Peter » Mon Sep 21, 2009 7:24 pm

Let's decide once and for all, who's crazier; players who choose full change, and players who choose full tradition.

Full Change:
-Gets LP at 10 times the rate
-Will quit the game when three or four months of play time drowns due to bad luck.
-Gets to have several skills in the hundreds.
-Attributes grow at the same rate.

Full Tradion:
-Never looses LP to death
-Must spend nearly a year to make the same gains a changer does in a month.
-Keeps attributes are high for LP values.
-Never actually gets to high levels because they quit due to old age.

Currently I play as Full trad, but seeing as I'm three months in and still have less than 100k LP, making me an absolute newb, I'm going to have to revise that.

I could make a suggestion about maybe making it such that full trad get's 1/2 the points but saves 3/4 of LP and full change gets 2/1 points and 1/4 when reincarnating, but maybe the option to be extreme should be in there... maybe.
Surprise.

The problem is that once you have your combat skills over 100, and your strength and con around 100 too, there arent many things that have ANY chance to kill you.
Personally, i believe the current skill and stat growth arent enough... exponential. The difficulty to achieve ridiculous levels of power is too low.
Though i have no idea how these people farm for lvl100 skills anyway, even with max tradition. lvl100 is what, half a million lp? What can you possibly be doing to get that much?

Much more. Up to level 34 is about 400,000 LP, and it just goes up rapidly from there. Macroing Looms, or hunting X-level bears.

Level 34 from level 1 is only 59.4k LP
Level 100 from level 1 is 504.9k LP

And I got my first level 100 skill from JUST farming/mining on the first map, it shouldn't be all that much harder on this one.

Uh, what? Ive just grabbed excel and counted, and then tested on one of my lv1 skills ingame.
Going from lv1 to lv34 costs 59 400 LP, twice less than the current cost for murder. Going from lvl1 to lvl100 is 504 900 LP.

Hmm...

Google calculator sucks, then!

EDIT: Checked with Excel myself, and you are INDEED correct.

You can calculate the lp needed with 50*((x+1/2)²-(y+1/2)²) with x = skill level wanted; y = current skill level.
