Let us reflect upon the good he was able to do during his short time in the hearthlands.
Let us remind ourselves of his bravery and willingness to fight for the safety of his friends!
Let us hope he can surpass his previous achievements in his future lives.

I miss the days when you went into a cave and you needed a torch, when you could hide behind trees and none would see you, and when the day cycles mattered, i think these were all essential game mechanics. Am i the only one who would prefer the game to work only with the normal client?

That would suck.

This discussion we had a lot of times already though. Only recently Jackard linked some thoughts form the Inner Party forum on how to improve the whole lighting situation. By making fires, cndelabras etc last forever/very long, by introducing more passive light sources like will o' wisps and of course also by making night less dark and more a matter of different colours rather than hiding things from players. That is just plain annoying.
The vanilla client can set much, much better ambience...occasionally. Mostly it is just an inconvenience though.
