Best Way To Prep For a Fight Following a Boat Chase?

Postby jordancoles » Thu Nov 17, 2011 6:33 pm

What are some good ways to prepare for a fight / get the upper hand when being chased in a boat?

I usually call down thunder repeatedly for as long as I can then opportunity knocks/evil eye.

Anyone have other things that they do?

Assuming it's been hours of boating/no other choice etc

Also, as mm increases staying in the boat isn't as safe as it would be now anyways

Nobody is going to shoot you when you're moving in a boat because chances are they're moving to.

Boat chases aren't really much to worry about until you get cut off, but you are doing the right thing with thunder. Give stern order a try as well to gain some advantage. Also try not to stop long enough to give them a chance to swim to your boat.

What you should be doing is if you are leaving scents regularly you should always be carrying a few buckets of good quality water on you. Hell even if you aren't leaving scents it still may come in handy.

Aside from that, there's no other real way to prepare for a fight other than practice, practice, practice!

Drop frogs. It's natural selection. If it hits behind you, you win. If it hits in front of you... have a nice swim.

Well, i wouldn't evil eye to start, if they have enough to flex they can probably get 100 attack before ur evil eye comes off cooldown if u try to stand still and fight him. Depending on my opponents IP, i would gather enough to op knocks 3-4 times then try to sting. If they tried to do the same to me, i would evil eye after their op knocks so hopefully they don't have enough to flex their attack back. This early on, you could probably slide through the op knocks a bit so they can't 1 shot u with a sting since most people won't have much MC or a good quality sword. Depending on ur enemies UA you could try to skuld them a few times to even things out a little, or push things really far into ur advantage if they don't have IP or have already tried to use a combo to kill you (op knocks/no pain no gain for example).

Bit of rambling in that, can't really get my thoughts straight for some reason ;)

As a side note, not jumping out of ur boat won't accomplish much because they could be calling more people to try to trap you. If i knew i wasn't getting support i would find the first dead end and jump out of my boat and run. The chances of losing someone in a forest are far greater then losing someone in a boat chase if ur pursuer isn't dumb.
