a continental HnH

Postby hazzor » Fri Jan 20, 2012 8:49 pm

i found myself thinking (whilst playing on a nomad toon i'm having fun with) that it would be really cool to have a world that wasn't so much like a marsh, a more continental style of world with fewer, but perhaps larger, rivers and lakes/seas. any opinions on this? i just want to entertain what i think is a nice concept while the server's down

In truth I would it if it was its own world. Not just based off a small area in history. Yes I love the games roots, but it can be its own thing.

This would also mean a large basemap.

yea i would love the next world be like a map of islands. not so small that yhou couldnt survive, but big enough to where everyone would truly be kinda alone.

oh yea, no boats.(though i like boats, but for this island map, no boats)

heh... I've not looked into salem enough to know that, but all i know so far is that i don't like the art style, the era or the witchcraft mechanics (or what of said things has been shown)

all i've heard about haven's lore is that it's supposed to be germanic, is a time period ever specified? with that said, the Ring of Brodgar is a stone circle in England... what what, pip pip, cheerio and all that. i'd love it if anyone had any links to an explanation for all this, or just knows and can tell me of course, that works too.

no boats on a map primarily composed of water? this perplexes me...

yeah, i think he wants everyone to drown and lose all of their things over 9000 times

but while we're on the subject of salem, who's seen this? http://www.seatribe.se/salem/test.ogv

Plz someone find Hazzor and punch him for me, the Ring of Brodgar is in Scotland not England. No pip-pipping at all. In the whatever-time Haven is/n't set, it was probably the Kingdom of Orkney, anyway. Any Orcadians here want to defend their honour? Orkney and Shetland are somewhat more Norse than most of the UK, so maybe that's got something to do with it?

Also Orkney has things like the Tomb of the Eagles, where you can go and get a tour of a bunch of archeological relics in someone's porch, where they do things like randomly hand you a bronze age skull they found in their garden, and then go off through a muddy field and crawl into the tomb on a skateboard, which is kind of a bit more like Haven than the sugar-coated offerings elsewhere.

I like the idea of there being a ton of island with a large body of water inbetween islands.
Perhaps there can be some sort of new water warfare!
