Curios in Salem?

Postby SigmarHeldenhammer » Mon Mar 05, 2012 11:11 am

I was just wondering if this system is going to be in Salem. I was a world 3-4 player who left once it was introduced. I'm not going to QQ or rant (too much.), but I will say that they effectively stopped any possibility of me playing the game (Because it's such a dumb fucking system. No offense.). I'm going to school right now for game programming and I can't overstate how much of an effect H&H has had on me. This is what gaming should be like. It's amazing. Balls to the wall integrity, real game mechanics, I could go on for hours about all the things Seatribe has done right with this game, and hopefully will do right in Salem.

That being said, fuck curiosities and the entire system around them. I could see it being a secondary way of gaining LP for people who don't play too often, but as the sole means of LP gain I think it's pretty retarded. It's especially awful, too, because h&h interests me a thousand times more than any other game available right now.

I want my old LP system back. I want a Salem free from a stupid horseshit lp system.

Please...Tell me this is not in Salem? D:

All I can say is: I dislike LP system in Salem even more than this currently in HnH.
It's just a big WTF...

I never botted once and I was fine with it. Lp was really pretty easy to come by, honestly. Every time I went to farm, for example, i would make somewhere around 15k lp for harvesting/replanting. It's true that you could just grind the shit out of the game to get lp a little faster, but you would still make decent lp gains off of simply playing the game. Putting up walls, exploring, hunting, farming, mining, building roads, every little thing built up over time to give you a pretty nice lp gain by the time you were ready to log off.

I guess it really comes down to a passive lp system vs. an active lp system. All I know is that once upon a time, myself and five of my friends would all regularly sit down with some beer and play h&h all night. Now we don't. Tis a sad life without those nights.

Edit: Oh, and thanks about the name. I'm hoping to form a Warhammer Fantasy themed Empire in Salem. Sup witch hunters.

A lot of truth...
On other hand you get more free time playing in current system, as you do minimal work and just fill in curios and log off.

The system combines the best of both worlds imo. Still needs tweaking obviously, but it's ok other than being a little boring currently.

back in w2 the world was 4 times larger and on average 10 times less populated

i saw entire supergrids stop having trees, imagine the same on this world.

There are simple solutions to prevent this, but anyway, we won't discuss that here neither we are allowed to discuss about Salem too much as we are still under NDA.
