Passed my driving exam :D Which car?

Postby Saif_Mahlik » Tue Mar 06, 2012 12:55 pm

I just passed my driving exam like 1 hour ago :D I would have failed because I SLIGHTLY clipped the curb but I don't think the driving examiner noticed it  which in England is a major and if you get one major you have failed. Anyways I passed with 7 minors which is pretty decent.

Anyone got any suggestions to which car I should buy as a first time car?

I have a budget of £8,000 ($14,000+) can be stretched a bit further. I need a car that is fuel efficient (Not necessary but a bonus) and has good handling but the only car that comes to mind is an Audi A3 and a BMW.

The two cars I have my eye on are -

BMW 3 SERIES 318I SE

Audi A3

If you can get BMW 320d would be awesome. I heard they are pretty though and one can last more than 20 years with no big service on engine and fuel consumption is very very low and you can also run it on bio-diesel which might become cheaper in future than normal diesel.

I'm not sure about 5 series if it is good same as 3 series, but if you ge tit for that money it's pretty nice deal. On diesel engine you can get to 4 litres per 100km fuel consumption if you don't have heavy foot.

Congrats saif :D

Any audi without a doubt, i love them.
Didn't realise u live in England - me too.
I passed mine first time despite the fact that i lost my temper with two kids riding their bikes out in front of my car on a roundabout and shouted out the window "come back and i'll do it properly" - meaning run them over, lol. I was forced to do emergency stop and examiner was impressed, still thought i'd failed all the way round tho and was amazed he passed me.
Happy driving!
