WURM ONLINE
F2P,MMO (Can buy premium membership for more features)
Everything in wurm online is created by players. When a new server is launched it is an empty land. All characters of the same kingdom and gender are represented with the same 3D model. All items are made from materials from the world – trees, rocks mined from tunnels, iron, steel and so forth. Wurm allows players to terraform the land, raising tiles, flattening them and lowering them using shovels. Players can also mine underground and make vast caverns, climb mountains, build keeps and cities, and form new kingdoms (on the Epic servers). Player versus player combat is open with penalty for same kingdom killing on most servers. Multiple gods vye for the attention of players and grant missions on the Epic server and spells and enchants to players and items. Every item has a quality level that affects its damage, decay, or overall quality. Skills can be leveled up based on usage with no skill or stat cap. Archery is included and is an active component of combat. Many players choose to live peaceful lives and are only called to combat during raid events where one kingdom attempts to invade another.

B2P. Another zombie mmo. It's supposed to be like Dayz but i think this game will be even better..Hopefully.

RAIDERZ
F2P. Looks fricking awesome!

GUILD WARS 2
B2P.

The living world of Guild Wars 2 is filled with thousands of dynamic events that constantly change based on the actions of players like you. You never know what you’ll discover when you log in!

Experience a new kind of high-impact, fast-paced combat. Attack on the move, dodge and roll away from enemy blows, team up with other players, and take advantage of environmental weapons to dominate the battlefield!

Guild Wars 2 is YOUR story. Your choices determine how your personal story evolves; with thousands of possible variations, no two players will have the exact same experience.

Competitive play in Guild Wars 2 is easy to learn, but offers challenges for new players and hardcore PvPers alike. In Player vs. Player matches, small teams of players battle over maps packed with objectives, while in World vs. World, armies of hundreds of players from competing servers wage war across four sprawling maps.

ELDER SCROLLS ONLINE
No idea what the fee is going to be for this game and also the release date is year 2013.

STARBOUND
B2P,under development.

Starbound begins with you fleeing your homeworld in a space shuttle, just as it’s destroyed by an unknown enemy. With nothing to guide it, the escape pod shoots into space without direction, becoming hopelessly lost in a sea of stars. As luck would have it, the space shuttle makes contact with an abandoned space station and an adventure begins that will take you hurtling across the universe. Starbound contains both quests and story driven missions, buried inside its vast sandbox universe.

The space station in Starbound is sprawling and full of potential. Throughout your travels you’ll find ways to upgrade and repair it, restoring it to its former glory. You’ll need to find a crew, conduct research, catch rare creatures, and unlock its multitude of facilities. From a factory capable of producing mechs to labs where captured enemies can be studied and trained, the space station contains everything you need to explore the universe.

Planets in Starbound are entirely procedurally generated and filled to the brim with unique content. We went into the planet generation with one simple goal: no two planets should be the same. By procedurally generating even the smallest details, we’re doing just that. Not only is the terrain of the planet procedurally generated, but the weather, the gravity, the difficulty level, the plant life, the behaviour and appearance of alien creatures, and much more all contain random or procedurally generated elements.

TERRARIA
B2P.

Dig, fight, explore, build! Nothing is impossible in this action-packed adventure game. The world is your canvas and the ground itself is your paint.

Grab your tools and go! You can do many things in Terraria: make weapons and fight off a variety of enemies in numerous biomes, dig deep underground to find accessories, money, and other useful things, gather wood, stone, ores, and other resources to create everything you need to make the world your own and defend it. Build a house, a fort, even a castle, and people will move in to live there and perhaps even sell you different wares to assist you on your journey. But beware, there are even more challenges awaiting you... Are you up to the task?

Haven & Hearth.

Well that's not the only one you know. It's many other sandbox mmo/games out there. Well kind off.. Sadly it's not really much of these and more needs to be made because if you take a look at mmorpgs then you will see it fricking bunch of mmorpgs which is pretty much same but with sandbox mmos you have freedom of doing what you want and we seriously need to see more of those. Dont you think so?

I agree..."but", I'm 39 years old and have waited pretty much 30+ years for someone to make Haven, I don't see another one as good coming around again in my lifetime. lol

my problem with Wurm is that it's very odd in the way it goes about worlds, i would much prefer a hnh style, "there, off you go, go be killed by a bear", i don't know what the death penalty is in Wurm as i was never killed in the three or so hours i played , but what worlds i was able to play in thanks to it's premium account system were overpopulated as hell in most areas and it was a very odd version of farmville with more role players, it's inventory, crafting and equipment system infuriated me too, all in all i find it to be a lot like EVE online, but on the ground, with terrible player graphics (since the landscapes aren't THAT bad) and a very odd playerbase for the most part.

On the subject of EVE, since i mentioned it, to me EVE is, as many before me have said, a lot like a job in space, depending on how you play of course, i bought a big scary ship and stole from smaller ships, with lasers, of all the MMORPGs i've played (wow, rift, SWTOR, conan, Warhammer online, etc the whole lot basically) EVE is the only one i'd consider going back to, primarily because of quite how open it is, as you say, it's a sandbox unlike too many other MMORPGs. But it's a lot to get into for a game, especially with it's higher than usual subscription cost.

also where's project zomboid, i'd consider that sandbox, and very fun too
Oh boy, here I go cheesemaking again...

Added it on the list. :) Also. Wurm online is diffrent in it's own ways and when you die you respawn but you will lose your stuff that you had on you and to get it back you need find your corpse to get your things back. On the free to play server no one else then you can loot back your things from your corpse and you cannot attack people either or destroy people's buildings. On the pvp server people are allowed to to attack you, destroy buildings, loot you. You will respawn to. Now you can make your character a champion i believe..Which gets you only one life. So if you die 3 times with your character then you will be deleted. Anyway. This isn't the case anymore because it been removed so no more perma-death for champion character.

I can agreed that mortal online isn't the best sandbox mmo out there. I know it doesnt have much features and were very unfinished at it's release. The game does still look promoseing and it has it bad and good parts. Thought still it's a game that i will look into time to time to see if anything new have happend. Worst part of it.. Mortal online being very slow with updates and fixing bugs. It lacks alot of feature and content and i heard they will release 2 new expanions everyday... Proberly but who knows.
