Pretty Picture(s?)

Postby farmchamp » Sun Oct 11, 2009 10:08 pm

Yes the left hand and the sword are crap. I'm learning. And I forgot the strap on the shield. And the face looks gay. I tried and failed to make it look like the faces of people in the game, no eyes or nose, but a little mouth was necessary.

It's a me! My ingame name is OhNiner if you didn't figure that out. Here is my reference picture.

Get me one of your guy and I would be happy to draw one. I'm not an amazing artist but these are terribly fun. :D

he looks kind of like a larger version of whats already in game, you should give him more detail (and a better pose)

That actually looks very nice. It kind of reminds me of Jorb's art. :)
The grumpiest tree you ever did see.

Character: Hamel, previously Chieftain of Ancient Bottleneck, a founding father of the Confederation of Bottleneck. Currently a hibernating soul.

I actually was going for that look. Jorbanism/what they look like in game. I added more detail, but it killed the style so I reverted it. And I don't have shoes and I don't know why, I had better make some...

dont coddle new artists or they wont improve

what you have is very very basic, but dont be discouraged

you should work on your skills, take some lessons/tutorials and then post some more

despite the mysticism surrounding it drawing is a skill anyone can learn with honest effort (practice) and guidance

Very much this.

Go nuts.

The only art style I'm good at is the incredibly easy art of Pixel art. I zoom in, take the paintbrush tool, and after around a minute I've got an outline of what I wanna do.

Thanks. I may like to add that I am in no way a new artist. I just suck ass at drawing people, even worse on computers, even with my graphics tablet. You should see my still life crap. But thanks for the tips, I always love a good drawing tutorial.
