Stance on gay rights?

Postby rozn » Thu May 17, 2012 10:55 pm

Personally I believe that every human should have their basic rights. Just keep religion out of it. However I am open to debates and discussion so I was wondering what others think about gay rights.

Just gotta keep that post count high, huh?

I don't want to get it vicious or anything. Just want to know what others think and if it is truly 50-50.

for once i think he's right, it's known that this subject gives rise to the mother of all shitstorms, we've had some pretty heavily opinionated threads recently, is there a god and the Israel one (i read neither of which in full, it's just opinions after all) but when it comes to the rights of gays, it's best to leave it alone i think, some people get pretty offended on the subject...

Well it only takes one religious nut job to start quoting the bible about what laws we should all follow out of the fairy tale book and what laws we shouldn't.

Yes, seriously - when some stupid American Christian redneck says that gays are disgusting and inhuman, and then use the Bible to back this up, it makes me very frustrated. The US Consitution states that it was not built on any religion.

As long as gays aren't openly gay (IE making out in the park), I don't see any problem with them marrying and it causes no difficulties for other straight human beings. It's simply ignorance at its finest in the great country of ImageAmericaImage.

Also, the Declaration states: “all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”

I think that argument is relatively self-explanatory.

TL;DR

True.. but like you said its all opinions. The problem will never be solved if no one talks about it.

"As long as gays aren't openly gay (IE making out in the park)" I don't see anything wrong with this, I have to be around obnoxious people making out on the bus and shit, doesn't matter if their gay or straight its still obnoxious

You'd enjoy Norway then. They have laws against public displays such as that. I'm not sure what the penalty is for breaking them, probably just a small fine or slap on the wrist, but it still discourages that behavior.

Well I'm fine with it as long as they're not in my face with it. Like a seat in front of me face-humping each other :D
