It was nice ...

Postby LadyAly » Wed Aug 29, 2012 7:29 am

as long as it lasted - atleast around 2 months.
Rather new ( if I look at the player base) I enjoyed this game very much with a friend. We build houses, cellars, had pets and a nice mine.

I was warned it could happen, but it was a shock to see all robbed and the pets killed yesterday.
This game is nice, but not worth the effort. You build and play for hours with passion. Nothing more then to wish to be a crafter with a little peacefully place for your own.
And then in some hours all is done - away - robbed, destroyed. I don't mind a bit thievery - but this...
I'm a very busy person in RL - the little time I have I want to spent with fun, not grieve.

With the bearing of the heavy lags in mind and a lot of game experience in other Games ( small ones like Illarion ) this was a very bitter pill to
swallow.

So this is my first and last post and a g'bye. It could be a very wonderful game if you had a chance against those stuff. But you have none.
Take care and have fun further.

Not made of stone. But they were coming from the mine I guess.
Or can someone break the lock from the Palisade doors ?

Dunno - it doesn't plays a role anymore.

Pallis can be bashed: http://ringofbrodgar.com/wiki/Palisade - so no lockpicking needed... ;)

The Palisade wasn't breached. So they were coming from underground *sighs*
My friend is frustrated and we both discussed it a while - We wont come back.

Even if this is a sandbox game which intends to show some similaritys to RL and the PVP - it isn't a good place for new players.
I suppose no one cares anyway about Newbies - untill they have worked her ass off and can be robbed.
With Salem forthcoming even less - just my two cents.

Very sad for this little game - as I said - it was nice and we enjoyed it as long as it lasted.

It's really too bad how harsh Haven is for new players. Realism is interesting to a degree, but it loses a lot of its playerbase to griefers. I'm just hoping the same won't happen to me.

this late in the world, palisades offer absolutely no protection
its a shame to see anyone griefed so, considering the declining playerbase
but from your post, it seems like you and your friends still have your characters.

I would suggest joining a village (that has a bwall). there are definitely some decent people out there who would give you a home and a leg up to get started again.
while being a hermit appeals to many, myself included, there is also safety in numbers. Especially since you seem to be busy IRL and can't always patrol your walls. So instead of quitting, maybe just take a few days break (no more required logging to feed your livestock can be a positive :P ) then join a peaceful and safe village

best of luck to whichever you decide

i had a similar experience in world 5 where we got attacked through a mine and it almsot made me quit, but you'd be suprised how lovely some of the player base is and how you can rebuild everything pretty easily with some support. I had some of the ebst people join me after that raid, and we rebuilt everything and things were better than what i had before.

dont give up, it's actually pretty fun.
