Yet another hdd crash?

Postby aghmed » Tue Jan 22, 2013 11:20 am

Atm 32 ppl are playing and we have 45 second lags.
it is normal that there are lags terminators between 10:30 and 12:00 time UTC +1 but what is happening now reminds me hard drive crash...

btw loftar downgrade kernel or at least get rid or that raid!!!

I know that you're über lazy but downgrading kernel i usually less than half day of work.

#lags up to 4 mins / per lag

This game has been dead for a long time, but no, there's issues in the actual coding, not the hardware.

ya tell me that xd
i have to wait for him to load all objects when i go in/out building or he gets nuts :/

this game was bad coded and i think thats why loftar just dropped it, he doesn't want to look on this shitcode. He could at least give someone to fix that xd

Code is so bad that server is shitting itself, you would have so much lags even if you'd be the only online person on the server.
Many things is made in a way that won't work proper even without lags

Not true. Why do you throw this kind of information? It's not about server-sided game code, it's about compatibility with server OS and something about I/O stuff. It was fine and perfectly playable until latest debian update.

I agree with the downgrade. Its honestly just making me sick how each update have made the server more and more unstable. One second loft is speaking of not making changes till he is back the other second he is updating kernel. First we get super lags after 5.0 to 6.0. The next update introduces the random client kicks. It would be nice to have him really NOT DO ANYTHING till he is back. Downgrade would be nice if possible or at least have a automatic reboot each 24h, that would be enough.

Downgrading back to Debian 5 is not possible...automatic restart once a week wouldn't be bad

#proknah

I can show you many many examples of how not to do wich is in game.
Ignoring bugs like bugram wich normally happens and its nothing strange in this or even really retarded area loading thanks to managing Gobs is sh*ting bricks.
Look into animation files (.java) . this is working but how i have no idea. There have to be some silver tape inside cause i cannot explain it otherwise.

I played hnh on w4 it wasn't as smooth as it should be then, but excuse was "server on the moon". Idk what was gameplay on w5 cause i was too busy to play.

#borka

Downgrading is possible as long loftar have source code of hnh. It will trigger grat flood but i think everyone will scream "hell yes" if game will be playable again.

Lets face facts. In this moment lags are so big that URL server thinks that it is crash.
