This is a petition, obviously. If you do not agree and/or don't want to sign it, then don't bother posting. This isn't a topic to debate or flame, over opinions that are irrelevant to the subject.

Now, if you understand the above statements, continue. (You can skip to the bottom for a TL;DR)

With that out of the way, this petition is a last ditch effort to reviving what's left of Haven. No, this isn't a topic about the LP system, or Salem vs Haven. The fact is, Haven is pretty much dead. You can't deny that. It may be because of Salem's development, it may be because it's just two guys doing everything. Whatever the issue, the fact remains that something has to be done. I'm well aware that Haven gives Jorb and Loftar pretty much no income, it's a free to play game that's available to anybody. However, the genre of this game is extremely rare. A lot of people have tried recreating Haven in their own way, and have failed. Sure, there are some other survival MMOs, like Wurm for example. However none of them equal to anything near the experience I had with Haven. I'm sure quite a few people would be happy to donate again, if the game was being focused on once again.

TL;DR: I could go on all day long about this subject. It's just a shame to watch this game fall down the drain. The point of this rant? Easy, I think here's a couple of solutions we could prompt Jorb and Loftar to consider.

  • Release some form of the source to the public, so experienced programmers can have their try.
  • Fix up the networking in the source, or whatever is causing the lag, and update the game whenever possible. Even every couple of weeks would be fine.

Post with "I sign and agree." to add your name to the petition. I believe this is the only way we can really get Loftar and Jorb to see this.

Petitions are useless, and the devs' will won't change any time soon.

There's a chance that's true. There's also a chance you're wrong. Wouldn't it be more resourceful to try than to just quit?

I do think they should at least try and find someone competent to go through the source and try to fix the problems. If they can, great - then maybe they can let that competent person continue working on it for them - if they can't, well... at least they tried. They shouldn't let this game die even if their main priority and focus is on Salem. Haven and Hearth is too good for that.

I hereby sign this petition.

Pretty much. A lot of games actually do that. They'll practically finish the engine, then pass it onto someone they trust, who'll update and manage it while he/she works on the new engine for the next game. Though, normally this is with a company, not indie.

A brilliant first post! However, that would count as off-topic spam going out of your way like that. xD

EDIT: Now that's just weird. :|

I'm sorry the opportunity to do that was to great to resist, anyways I do agree they should start developing again but a petition won't work.
