To authors: What the hell is Salem? (read it please)

Postby Monika » Sun Mar 03, 2013 12:55 am

I was playing Salem and... it's not comparable to Haven. Salem is a total crap. Well, I think the authors of these games should focus on developing H&H, keep it free to play and unfortunately make it pay to gain (because everyone knows it's all about the money). Salem was a big mistake, Haven had a soul, something that people played and they really didn't know why, there's something magical in it. Some people would appreciate the graphics, sounds, whatever in all these new games which look more realistic than movies, but they will never come back to them, Haven is something that you come back to it, Haven was a genius plan, the most brilliant, why did you abandon it?

What you propose (pay to win) will ruin this game even worse than what the lag did.

Because they are poor and loftar has said he already spent most of his savings keeping this game up or something. So they're gonna make that crap for Paradox to earn moneys.

Bob dole would like to say, bob dole used to visit the forums everyday in hopes that the game would be fixed. Then he would visit the forums every couple days. Now bob dole comes to the forums once a week,

this trend resonates with everyone else, because the forums are becoming more and more dead. Soon all their fans will forget about hnh(including bob dole) and it'll become " just one of those indie games that never took off".
BOB DOLE
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

Several groups on the internet should be in the process of developing MMOs similar to HnH in most cases.
But don't expect any one of them that appears within the year to be like HnH.

Salem is basically EA's Sims mixed with HnH's violence.

Maybe check out Wurm online, its a nice crafting MMO, also has some rading components if you wanna play on the open servers. Its just graphically a different.

But wlel, its sad I can only log in via HF login, everything else is broken now. Oh my, I wish I found this game in earlier days, where it was working.

I used to come in quite often, but honestly the quality of the forums seems to have dropped (if it even had any to begin with) substantially. haven and hearth is still a more than decent game, when its not lagging like a PC made in 1999 trying to run a game made four years later.

also, dont try wurm online. its pay to play crap after you reach a certain level, and the controls are convoluted as hell, and while I dont normally put any stock into a games graphics, wurm is downright ugly. your better off trying something free. look around, your bound to find something, and you'll almost certainly find something better than worm. hell try dwarf fortress. If you dont like that, keep looking, the net is full of interesting stuff. by stuff I mean crap, the internet is full of crap and finding a good game is like finding a penny in that crap. your best bet is to step away from the PC and read a book or walk the dog. ive been doing a hell of a lot of both recently.
