Disconnection Issues

Apology in advance if this thread is in the wrong section as i couldnt find a support section.

My friend and I have only recently become addicted to Haven and Hearth however during our gameplay my friend constantly gets disconnected.

I've searched the forums, however all i have managed to find were people with the same issue but no solutions.

Essentially this problem doesnt affect me at all, I can continue to play for hours on end with no disconnections however every 5 or so minutes my friend would DC.
Note: the disconnection is happening at random and is not specific to any location.

My friends connection speed is 5mb/s with an upload speed of 1mb/s, Ports udp 1870, TCP 1871 have been opened.

Any suggestions or solutions would be greatly appreciated.

I'm certain it isn't, as my friend doesn't drop out from anything else (skype). There are also no issues with any other games.
I'll be willing to provide more info if requested.

The firewall had been turned off (since the start). An update though, she hasn't disconnected from the game in the past 15 minutes.

Is there a router? There could be ports blocked there. I know I disconnect randomly from games (note: mostly MMO's!) if I have not forwarded the ports on my router.

There is a router involved however the ports have been forwarded and confirmed open. I should mention the disconnection is strictly explicit to Haven and hearth.

There are periods where she won't dc for about 15 minutes and then times where its consecutive every minute.

This happens to me too, and the only explanation I've ever found is that my computer is a bit rubbish and for some reason doesn't like other people being around - it can happen that I'm playing on the same connection as someone else, and I'm d/cing every 20 minutes or so but they aren't, but when I kept playing through the endless lag while all around me quit, I could sometimes stay connected a lot longer.

OR, and I never tested this properly, it could be something to do with curios finishing. I had a vague and entirely unsupported theory that I crashed more often when cone cows finished than at other times.

Now that Loftar has done whatever he's done and the lag is disappeared, I've crashed out three times today, which could be just random, or could be to do with there being someone else playing nearby again.

Yes we are, however the issue was occurring on the vanilla client also
