Haven Radio (DJ Room 2.0)

Postby painhertz » Wed Jul 03, 2013 9:49 am

Back during World 5 or early World 6 MvPeh and I started a DJ room on turntable.fm. It's a good way to get to know each other outside of the game and generally listen to some tunes while playing so consider yourself all welcome. Come in, listen, DJ, make fun of the old man's musical tastes, whatever.

As soon as I can remember how to change the room name it'll go back to being Haven Radio.

Rules: No fucking dubstep, play dubstep and you are insta banned. Pretty much no electronica at all.

No playing annoying music just to piss people off. I.E.: Vigilance playing "It's raining men." or Sarchi coming in and playing Death metal and every annoying thing he could think of until I banned him.

No songs over 6-8 minutes. I know some of you might like magnum opus songs that last forever but we all want our turn to play shit too and waiting 25 minutes for a turn don't cut it.

Please use your Haven forum name as your DJ name so everyone knows who's who, anyone spoofing someone else's forum name will be insta banned.

I reserve the right to kick/ban anyone being a prick for being a prick's sake.

Note: Turntable doesn't allow Canadian or Euro IP's so use http://www.hidemyass.com/ or some other form of proxy. It's possible as we've had quite a few Canadians and Euro types drop by.

Note: You join/login using your Facebook but noone will know what your Facebook is, a lot of people were paranoid about that.

As plainly stated in the OP, use a proxy.

As to WHY it's restricted, they provide all of the music, although you can upload your own MP3's there's a massive list of music you can draw on to make your playlist at no cost so I guess they are worried about piracy and whatnot. in other words, you don;t have to have a single music file on your own computerm they provide all that.

Oh, didn't read the notes, was overly excited, went on the site, and it was restricted, sorry.

I'll try to find the old thread, MvPeh or someone had a good proxy that worked with it, not sure if it was hidemyass or another.

All problems solved.

I just googled "proxy" and got a list, though the first 3 don't work.

viewtopic.php?f=7&t=26313&hilit=turntable.fm

There's the original thread, somewhere in there there are mentions of working proxys. before it was over he changed what site he used but i prefer turntable and didn't/don't want to start a new playlist.
