Sword Tests

Postby jordancoles » Sun Feb 02, 2014 12:33 pm

Just did some tests with weapons

Seems soldier swords are like 300 base (not 400 base), bronze are 250 (not 300) roughly and b12s are 500 base
Just posting this here before bed.
Enjoy, swords are fucked.

Was using this formula http://puu.sh/6HbOG.png
Just kept toggling base numbers until my damage matched up

Anyways I'm very overtired so I could have missed something, but based on the wiki

Swords base damage has been known for months. They are half of what they were.

The b12s are new though.

did anyone make a test on how much damage a shield actually soaks?

sorry but i have been away from the game for quite some time and im not a fighter so i have forgotten most of it.

it seems to me the shield is the only component that might make the use of the sword equally beneficial to the B12 depending on your fighting style or your role within a group of fighters if the shield is effective enugh to perhaps soak equal or the same amount of damage that of the difference between the sword and the B12 or something like that. to make it viable again or even better, an equal choice. ohh well i dont know

i like the thaught of seeing a more dynamic versitile group of fighters with a lot of different roles that is equaly viable it should be beneficial to have all types of roles in one group instead of just one or two effective roles.

hmm perhaps give them 2 or more special extra moves if you wear a shield you get 2 extra moves that only works with sword and shield, if you wear only knuckles you get 2 other extra moves that only works when you wear knuckles, if you have a B12 you get 2 other extra moves that only works wile using a B12, if you use ranged you get two other extra moves that you only get if you are wearing a bow and so on.

i hope they can make it worth wile to be diffrent rather then the same. ohh there could even be different clothes matching different roles that you must wear together with the weapon of choice to get the benefit of those extra moves, would make it harder to switch roles in the middle of battle and would add more content to work for, beacuse most likley people will want to own all sets so they can switch roles on different occations, or if they just get boored of one role.

not that i think the devs are gonna look at this. it has probably been adressed before like everything else.

meh "shield manouver" then if its that important, how much damage does it fend off compared to the other moves and does it need tweaking to mach up the lack of damage from the sword?
