Faith in humanity restored

Postby faenludi » Sun Oct 05, 2014 11:05 pm

İm a newcomer without any fighting skills, im unable to defend myself at the moment. İ read forum threads and saw people who only kills to enjoy this is why i scare other hearthlings in game and live alone in my poor basement but this is not the story.

Today i jumped on my boat and sailed to forage some stuff, i sailed like ten minutes in river then a strange affair happened, suddenly a guy with a high equipment appeared in front of me, he said stop, i scared, turned and started to run with my boat, he chased me about 5-10 mins. İ had no chance, stopped my boat and waited for a very early death.

He could probably kill me with a one hit, surprisingly he said that he is friendly and asked me if i need help, he brought me to his base, gave me some high ql curios and equipment...

Part 2:

İ wasnt online for a week because of my vacation, when i back whole my base was raided, all lifestock was stolen and all low stuff like 10ql seeds were gone, i was thinking to make a new base around there and then i got a pm from that guy who helped to me, he said that he killed that raider, we went that raiders base, my friend showed me his corpse and said: take anything you want, i got some mid ql tools and equipment, the base was pretty big too. İ am not happy about his dead but justice was achived.

There are still good people in haven and do you wanna share any stories like this?

When I was playing I tried to help any newcomers and all newbies, as long as they weren't the killing ones I was supporting them. That's all I can say.

Colin500 speaks truth. He gave me some stuff to help me and my village defend against a griefer asshole. Until my recent death, I still owned that breastplate. I will forever remember it. <3

Well, once I met one of the scary dis raiders in the middle of nowhere and he didn't kill or chase me. He offered some material support, and later he even helped me check on a town harassing what was my hermitage back then. I guess that counts as a restoration of faith?

I started a thread like this a while ago, mostly to prove a point. It didn't last very long, so the point was proven. viewtopic.php?f=7&t=36806&p=485702#p485702

I help every other person I see. When I find groups of noobs though I aggro them and tell them to choose who dies and who lives 50:50. It really depends on my mood though.

In general end game players have nothing to gain from killing noobs, and more to gain by making friends with you. I'm sure if you were in end game gear you would have been attacked, were as now he has you to do shit noob work for him, like making loads of leather. Plus, making connections is always important in case you become powerful at some point in the future.

Almost whole early w7 after I stopped raiding alone (or with villagemates), I would find random noobs and help them, give them random shit like brickwalls, and raid people with them... I know it's a bit hypocritical to help someone and then raid others with him, but hey, I don't have an "alignment" in this game, I just have fun.
Same happened to me in w6, got found as a noob by no other than Hasse, I joined his village and we raided many people together.
As far as I'm concerned there's no such thing as good people in this game. Bad people either. Yes, it's a permadeath game, but hey, even though when I played I had enemies I would constantly try to kill and I died to them, if I would trade with them or spar with them, they would not kill me right there. I think that's called "good" people. Killing isn't bad at all, betraying is.
You just have to be at the right place in the right time and hope the person you see doesn't feel like killing.

Really reasonable comment.
