Ping makes a difference

Postby Xcom » Wed Mar 18, 2015 11:37 pm

So I moved home to the motherland. I must say people that shit talk about how ping have no impact, holy fuck they were wrong. I never knew what it was to ever play haven under 350ms ping. Moving home I now have 30ms or less. 10x better ping makes a HUGE, MASSIVE, GIGANTIC difference. I can't even begin to imagine the ways I'll be able to exploit the advantages. I haven't gotten used to it but when I click to turn a corner it actually turns the instant I click. I keep slamming my head against walls cause I have always had to click 2 tiles prior to reaching the bend.

Anyone saying ping doesn't matter can go fuck themselves.

What ping do you have to haven?

90% of the time I'm playing, I compensate for ping because I'm so used to it. I imagine playing without it would be a lot easier, and I'd love to be in your position m8y :(

I can't stop enjoying just opening flower menus and walking in and out of a house seeing how fast it loads. Its insane, game is actually enjoyable for ones. 3 years of torture and now its actually playable.

Huh, I've always had decent internet, I always thought lag had to do with the client you used  .

I was once forced to play on ender's client after a long time of playing on your client, and loading the map and objects took so long that I almost smashed the mouse in frustration of seeing a white dot on my map :?

Didn't agro, thank Jesus

I've been on both ends of the coin. In world 3 my ping would hit between 500-800 when we had 350+ players online. That was absolutely miserable and I hated everything. I refused to go out hunting or exploring when it was lagging that bad because of how easy it was to die before you realized you were dead. Inversely, worlds 4 and 5 I was averaging 30-50 ping and everything was beautiful. I haven't played world 7 on any accounts so I can't tell you what I'd be getting, but I can feel your pain. =)

Keep in mind that in world 3, you are much less likely to die because animals would stop attacking you if you got KO'ed. Almost at some point in world 3, the lag improved significantly.
