Yea i understood it, but were you surrounded by at least a palisade on a claim land ? i don't know, but if he smashed it to come into your home it would have take him some time no ?

So you just have a house in the woods somewhere or something?

First things first would be to claim your land then build a palisade to deter some people who may try to pay you a visit, but ultimately you'll want to save up enough to purchase some wallgrade steel and wrought to build a brickwall, hell I'd even sell you some myself if you needed and had a village idol.

i had no walls and i was semi afk. im thinking of moving somewhere else and starting from scratch because this isnt the first time ive had problems. people keep stealing my boats and breaking my stuff

2 small houses 2 medium houses a farm a kiln an oven some drying racks and tanning tubs all on a claim except 2 houses that i didnt have enough LP to cover yet. but i never got around to making walls yet

I mean no offenses but you have made several mistakes that put you in this situation
Semi afk with Main character ( you don't use alt ?)
No walls ( is your land claimed ? if it's not you are just asking people to take your stuff) ^^
Where were your home ? don't build near water go deeper in land and avoid lifesigns.
