Server's Down Boredum

Yay, the server is down, and holy boredum, so, what other games have you hearthlings played, or what does H&H remind you of, personally, i can't keep thinking of Ultima Online as I play, less content at the moment, but some more freedom of creation for sure, just hoping they eventually add Custom Houses as well, along certain tool guidelines, anyway, and perhaps multistory houses, less the mansion already is, havn't been in one yet.

I can only think of one example, that is completely off. When I joined Runescape years ago ( 8-) ) I remember imagining it would be like this the whole time during the tutorial, having to survive in the wilderness and build your own house and farm, I was sorely disappointed when I realised the truth but H&H is something (to me anyway) new and original, I know there are other sandboxes out there, but nothing quite like this one, admittedly my computers graphics card can't take pac-man so I haven't realy been able to see many more, but Haven is original or me anyway...

When the server is down, at least other towns aren't raiding your shit.
As for the content, the devs have an awful lot of idea but they only implement like 2-3 per week, just be patient.
Also, welcome to the game ! Are you near some big town or something ?

You seem to think I have only joined today O.o

I'm fine with the content too, I think they are doing fantastic, especially considering this is a hobby.

What H&H reminds me of...

A touch of Dwarf Fortress, dash of Runescape, a nib of Unreal World, a small piece of Ultima, a chip of Wurm Online.

Pretty much all the best pieces mashed together into something very enjoyable.....minus the insane lag of course :).

As far as other games. I'll toss a few things out.

As far as survival based wilderness you can't go wrong with unreal world:

For war games you might want to try mount and blade if you're looking for a realistic medieval type:

Online wise, other than haven and hearth I go mostly for rpi muds. They fit a large role from the purely pvp, like dartmud, to the
semi pvp like accursed lands, to a deep social with realm vs. realm, shadows of isuldur. Also waiting on a graphical one called gnostaria that looks promising for fans of uo.

Hm...
Also a hint of Kingdom of Loathing, and Second Life, maybe.
Oh, and Lost in the Blue (or Stranded Kids), for the survival part.

Also Lunaga, I forgot to say, the mansion is multistory.
Though a lot more housing options would be nice, of course

Sorry xD

I didn't bother to check your name for some odd reason and assumed you were the OP xD

I once tried to play Wurm Online, but it wouldn't install properly and I don't know what the problem is, I am getting a new computer soon anyway so I might try it out then...
