So... F'ing thieves.

So yeah. Got a pleasant surprise while grinding at base camp. Someone porting into our base and accusing one of our camp-mates of stealing.
Yay. =/ It was true. So surprisingly buddy ported around the screen a few times looking at odds and ends, then said:

???: Hehe, except the shit you stole from me.
???: But, you can keep it.

Good time to point out I hate the anon thing going on in the game, but I digress to the more important note. I'd like to give the stuff back. Didn't know he was stealing, and I'm not a fan of that kind of stuff. So yeah.
So if this was you, well hit me back here and let me know who the heck you were. Of course since anyone could pose, tell me what was roughly stolen, and what you were wearing.
Anyhow, here's hoping random-stranger reads the forums.

Wow. Absolutely epic.

Who would have known I'd have actually found the person whome he stole from?

Worse off, who would have known it was Jorb. Talk about a sour taste in my mouth about it. lol.

Edit: In an off note since I've got your attention and all, good job on the game. Probably one of the best free-online MMO's I've found in a long time. (And I've been trying a lot of them.) Love the whole UO feel to it. Keep up the good work!

Still kind of you to offer the stolen items back though. However the 'victim' was Jorb was a interesting twist
If you keep focusing on the shadow behind, you will not see the light in front of you.

Being successful isn't just about hard work and succeeding, it is also about picking yourself up when you fail.

Interesting twist is an understatement. lol. But yeah, still hoping Jorb will come take the stuff. Set it aside to occupy a corner.
Third camp I've had to build, and two previous encounters with griefers and thieves. If I don't like being stolen from, stands to reason others wouldn't. Plus the thieving will only come back to haunt our camp, this time it was Jorb, had it been someone else they might have thought a jolly game of 'destroy everything' would have been more entertaining.
The extra stuff might be nice, considering we're still getting everything running here and are a good 50% newbies. But the undue stress of people coming to look for their stuff is too much.
That and lets face it, the one time gain of theft versus leaving a runestone asking the person if they would like to arrange trading? I'd rather the trading route any day. End up with more stuff over a better period of time, right? Unless of course you're going to risk stealing over and over again from someone, but that'll just piss'em off and make them leave the game. (Especially when new. Griefers can kill a new players experience.)
