Awakening Sun

Postby Tenshi » Wed Apr 14, 2010 4:59 am

It has been 3 months since I settled in the city. Do I regret it? No. But sometimes I long to return to the wilderness again. It is a dream though, so long as the land is plague by those ill of heart that wish to do harm for no reason at all or simply 'bored'. After my close encounters that would have had me become a mere corpse (or I thought until I realize how feeble they really were) or trapped within my own home, it was simply not safe to do so alone.

He turns and heads from the palisade gate of his current home and looks out at the expanding lake, the ring of water spreading out indicating the ripples caused by jumping fishes. The thought of filet fish causing a slight rumble in his stomach. Well it was time to eat anyhow. Sheathing the sword he moves to the laid out basket upon the shore, his fishing supplies.

My name is Tenshi and this is my story, one of the many in this vast world.

When I arrived at the dock house. I saw a figure turn towards me and hastily slipping into a boat and leaving...upon town grounds. This causes my brow to raise in suspicion. It was confirmed when I noted the hide that was hung from the rack was gone as well as the leathers that was in the tanning tub. It was fortunate a villager had recently used the most valuable leather from the tubs that was of a bear I had recently slain. The signs of forced entry was apparent in the dock house as well as the dock storage. The boats were all scattered out but nevertheless undamaged aside room occasional wears so I checked the dock house.

I entered, an overwhelming stench of rot assaulted my nostril, forcing me to hold back a gag. With a hand holding my nose to alleviate the smell from reaching my nose, I looked upon a mess. All of the meat and fish we had obtained had been thrown to the ground and decaying as well as the baits. The lure, fishing poles, and hooks were gone as well as the leeches and hides. My hands tightened into a fist, hard.

Downstairs tale-told less signs but one thing was obviously missing. Our map. I had already had a better copy of the map region around us but this was still a travesty. Someone is going to pay...

Finally exiting the dock house, to my relief. The chieftain was on the road towards my location. I had told him of the situation and what I saw. His order was clear to me. To track down this individual and punish them. I accepted with grim determination.

The signs of the direction was badly concealed, the slight trail of splinter as well as hooks left falling behind was apparent, trailing towards the south. I hefted the sword and shield from their holding place and reached one of our boats. The hunt has begun.

(I will provide screenshots later on).

(because of the amount of image, I will post them as links rather than up front except one)

The forest leads me to a palisaded place, the tell tale signs of the theft still apparent though faint due to the foliage and cover of the forest; however it does not conceal well enough from my eyes. Also a native of the land helped me indicate the particular place as well as aid me in any way against this individual although for reasons unknown to me.

I continue to circle around the region to not only make sure if the scents are true should I erred but also to check for any weaknesses. The trail constantly indicated this region yet I have not been able to find a particular weakness. I did however found a structural flaw though. The ropes was not fully tied to the corner post. This allowed me to link new structure walls with it to trap the one inside. The technique was too familiar to me as it it had been used on me. I tried to instruct the stranger though she was perplexed on what to do specifically so I simply call her to gather some wood for me as I start the prison.

Because of the thief's mistake, we did not need to gather other materials nor as much quantity of wood as one would normally would for a new palisade. To make things easier, there were already felled trees to the east which was needed to do is to pull them there and chop them into needed pieces. It only took a an hour to finish half of the palisade. However I paused for a moment to place some very unique messages to the prisoner before the wall is completed.

After placing these messages, we finished the wall and placed the leftover evidence for the gods outside the palisade. I however want to make a final indication. The stranger simply rolled her eyes as she saw what I was working on. This is the result:

The mission was a success. The perpetrator was not killed but, with help, he was still neutralized. Perhaps the isolation will make him contemplate all the actions done so far. Now for the other issues of our town. Too much needed to be done...

Why would you build two gates so close together? How frivolous.

Or two people with no metal (nor hopes of gaining any in the immediate future) who don't want to have one of them play doorman until such time as they can acquire some.

The sounds of hammer thumping into wood, the sound of a banner digging into the soil, the burning noise of a kiln scorching clay, the sound of of preparation. Words have traveled quickly that 5 villages has been razed by two dangerous individuals and although he has respectable skill, he did not wish to take chances. Eyes vigilant for a ram while calling out instruction from his post, he stops for a moment and sighs. The world has gotten much more dangerous.

Who were these people that had no disregard of the lives of others, the work of the world and nature? Even if someone were to fell them, were there more from that location, waiting to strike? He had to make sure his village was not going to be the 6th victim.

He did his best to prepare. Try to learn more of these adversaries, talk to the survivor of the attacks (whom regard him with fear and suspicion understandably). Would it be possible for them to strike if they face a United Front? That could make the area safer than before...no that was getting ahead of himself. He must survive first.

Hefting a large bow as well as checking the sword at his belt, he resume his watch. No rest for the weary.
