Seed Grow Times List?

Postby ElTacoLad » Wed Jul 28, 2010 1:32 pm

I checked the wiki, and most seeds don't have their respective grow times listed. :(

So, I was wondering if there is a list, somewhere, that has the specific grow times for all the seeds in the game.

There probably some grow times available in the forum. But finding them and knowing if there still correct is a other matter.

Something related to current topic:
Are seed, or other things like tree's, grow times generally affected by server down time?
Or ... relative to server up time, or absolute -> relative to RealTime.
(Mmm, I probably could find out by observing the server stats url. Maybe later.)

What seed in specific are you looking to know how long it takes? From my recollection I believe most seeds take two days. Carrots take generally less then a day, and pumpkins take the longest but I forgot how long. I think like 5 days for pumpkins but I could be wrong. Newer seeds I think take a little longer then average seeds. This should give you at least a rough idea.

Carrots/Beetroot - Under 24hours
Hemp/Wheat/Grapes/Hops/Flax/Peapods/Onions - Around 2 days, varying a bit
Pumpkins - 4~5 days with a beehive, 6~7 without

All except pumpkins are with beehive

Plus the more Beehives you have the faster tiles can be pollinated which result in faster-growing crops.

That is only partially true. So long as a crop is inside a beehives area of influence, it will grow at the accelerated speed.

But having twenty beehives covering the same area will make no difference, except lower the chance of getting honey and wax.

I'm pretty sure carrots should be around 8 hours with a beehive.
They grow that fast. I shit you not.

Actually the way it seems to work is that every <time interval> the beehive chooses a few crops within it's range and accelerates them.

From what I've read and only partially tested while you lose the honey/wax (who gives a crap? :) ), they seem to grow slightly faster. Now of course this could all just be a trick of the mind because there hasn't been anyone who's tested it enough to say whether the effect of the beehive on one tile simply gives it the chance to 'grow faster' and stacked effects don't matter at all, or whether the beehive chooses a tile at random and boosts it.

I also haven't noticed the issue with wax/honey too much, it seemed fine for me.

I doubt you lose wax and honey if you build too many hives. It just takes longer for each hive to accumulate enough to be harvested, but overall quantity stays the same, since it's based on crops growth.

One hive seems to get all the honey/wax, the others don't seem to, despite helping the growth (possibly) ever so slightly.
