I know for a fact that JTG has nothing to do with that longhouse, by the way. Everyone immediately going GOOOOOONS is just talking out of their buttes

Just because they won't ban you for exploiting, doesn't mean they won't fix the exploit.
You'll notice the devs didn't "remove" his stuff, just gave people the ability to steal it, as they would normally.
So this is removing a exploit, not punishing. Although.. jorb saying he was and saying we could all now steal it is probly a punishment for making jorb spend time fixing the exploit :)

Edit:
In addition, the devs have a history of removing exploits... for example, people used to be abld to build stuff on water, and they removed it all as they came across it, without giving anything back in return. This isn't a exception, although it is unusual for jorb to mention that he removed something on the forums

Edit2: Oh, i forgot, they also spent a lot of time removing various exploits like people blocking in hearthfires and trapping people, or peoples ways of protecting their hearthfires from being reached [like this, for instance]... And they removed the claim over the ROB.

Nothing new here. People get screwed all the time when devs fix exploits. Anyway, best of luck to the raider of JTG's place. Please take everything.

so there must be a reason to break that, even if its just because they were pissed

Where does it say they take no actions to fix it?
The ones who see things differently.

You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them, disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can't do is ignore them.
And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius.

I don't see myself as breaking neutrality. The only thing I've done is to delete some of the cabins, leaving the rest accessible. The fact that you can build cabins in a way that renders the contents of them inaccessible to others is not an intended game mechanic (Which, of course, is plainly obvious to anyone for whom it is true that retarded (boolean) = 0), and I will not hesitate to fix such situations manually (If I feel like it). As Rift points out there are lots of precedents for this. I've done it a thousand times.

I have not revealed the names of the owner's of the hearthfires in the cabins, nor do I intend to.

I support thieving, even the asshole:ish heists. My own non-dev alts steal from time to time. I intend to give thieves and murderers better tools of the trade in the future (Because, believe it or not, they desperately need it).

But this pissed me off. Building a cabin is quite a bit of work. Some people have obviously decided that it's worth several bits of work, just to be able to wreak havoc from an absolutely secure vantage point. Cowards. *spits on ground*

Post here or PM if similar situations arise.

Thieves: I really like you. You add flavor to my game. Don't do this, you will not profit from it. I know it's hard right now, but I will make things easier for you.

Over and out.

ah, ok. this sounds more accurate than sami's usual rhetoric
