I like the idea of naming them after politicians. my first cows name is butterscotch, I keep him around for wagon pulling. my second was named cock gobbler. I still havent named the second generation, but I think I'll name the new male, "tricky dick" and the older male I will name Lincoln. of coarse as soon as the new male grows up ill have to butcher him.
