Overhyped.

HnH would be better moving more towards Dwarf Fortress than Minecraft, but some elements of Minecraft are definitely worth looking at and might end up very nice in HnH.

Come on, everyone's heard of Minecraft right?
Made by Mojang Specifications (a.k.a Markus Persson [Notch] and a couple other people) and still in alpha.
Completely destructible/rebuildable terrain, crafting table allowing the resources you mine to be converted into items or finished building blocks that allow you to shape the world further.
Already been featured in PC Gamer, Kotaku, Geek.com, Lazygamer, and Joystiq.
Valve gave a reference to it in an official teamfortress2.com blog post.
Now if this wonderful game was mixed with H&H, the result would be EPIC.

I would play ProgressQuest still.

Some jewels like the game Unreal World is(in a concept) are forgotten. Product of autisticly perverted person (where you can cut wood with your hands and stone with wood and can build structures no matter that gravity is saying "dumb,dumb..it will fall" is more favoured for sandbox culture development game.. HnH DONT need any copied schemes or ideas!
By me, it's production/craft system in games that is totally outdated and still working on closed set of Ideas(objects, list of objects) which are not able to produce any dialectical process, not even simulated, by the intervention od creators. I mean - what you want achieve in world, where everything, even the possibilities are already determined? HnH should be ready to fill the gap for seeking production system, which will be adequate to civiliation progress.

The endeavor to understand is the first and only basis of virtue.

The mapgen would be nice, but Dwarf Fortress has a lot of stupid bloat. Often its more simulation than game.

I can't comment much on Minecraft beyond that the crafting ui and terraforming seems nice at a glance.

It would really be an amazing game. Now all we would need would be able to be any animal/thing you wanted to be.

meh. minecraft is nice for a little while, but once you build so many huge towers, and mine out so many diamonds, club so many creepers, fall into the lava and in general blow the shit out of yourself and your fort accidentally with badly placed landmines... it just gets boring.

Well, there could be more growable plants in MC apart from wheat, reeds and cacti, but then again, in H&H there is need for different foodstuffs, where in MC it only restores health. And RPG skill system in MC isn't a good idea, so not sure if hybrid game could be something really different from Wurm.
