I think he's referring to the fact that America controls the world and that everyone who doesn't support American troops is a fucking Muslim. :roll:

Here in America during memorial day we honor ALL the military service members who gave their lives in WW1. This isn't just limited to the American Soldiers/Marines.

I disagree with the ways of American military. My brother is a special ops (dont really know the english term, I guess) and he kills only when that means it saves lives, so only shooting at enemy troops. Not for fun, like american marines shooting civilians, which you can see on hours of footage online.

Now where exactly are you from? Cause I'm sure if you told me I could dig up some dirt on war crimes that your troops have committed. The whole point of this thread was to honor the troops. Not sure if the OP meant only American troops or all troops but I really would rather see the thread go in the direction of all troops instead of getting derailed to a "your military is worse" argument.

Note: OP is canadian :D and obviously meant all troops that served in any war. also, you dont have to be canadian or american to respect the families of those that had family members serve in the war.

The 11th of November isn't just the memorial day for America as here in the UK we use that date as a day of memorial for the troops that fought in WWI.

Although alot of people seem to have it mixed up and recently in the news a presenter was heard saying that he shouldn't wear a poppy because Hitler lost the war.

And I can't help but wonder, oh Willy McBride,
Do all those who lie here know why they died?
Did you really believe them when they told you the cause?
Did you really believe that this war would end wars?
Well the suffering, the sorrow, the glory, the shame,
The killing and dying it was all done in vain
Oh Willy McBride it all happened again,
And again, and again, and again, and again.

Did they beat the drums slowly?
Did they play the fife lowly?
Did they sound the death march as they lowered you down?
Did the band play The Last Post and Chorus?
Did the pipes play The Flowers of the Forest?

Dulce et Decorum est

Bent double, like old beggars under sacks,
Knock-kneed, coughing like hags, we cursed through sludge,
Till on the haunting flares we turned our backs
And towards our distant rest began to trudge.
Men marched asleep. Many had lost their boots
But limped on, blood-shod. All went lame; all blind;
Drunk with fatigue; deaf even to the hoots
Of disappointed shells that dropped behind.

GAS! Gas! Quick, boys!-- An ecstasy of fumbling,
Fitting the clumsy helmets just in time;
But someone still was yelling out and stumbling
And floundering like a man in fire or lime.--
Dim, through the misty panes and thick green light
As under a green sea, I saw him drowning.

In all my dreams, before my helpless sight,
He plunges at me, guttering, choking, drowning.

If in some smothering dreams you too could pace
Behind the wagon that we flung him in,
And watch the white eyes writhing in his face,
His hanging face, like a devil's sick of sin;
If you could hear, at every jolt, the blood
Come gargling from the froth-corrupted lungs,
Obscene as cancer, bitter as the cud
Of vile, incurable sores on innocent tongues,--
My friend, you would not tell with such high zest
To children ardent for some desperate glory,
The old Lie: Dulce et decorum est
Pro patria mori.
