IIRC hearthfires don't have a damage soak. So if you're really keen on keeping your character, destroy your hearthfire, log out, log in and spawn somewhere in the wilderness again. That would even give you the option to put stuff into your inventory first from said village.

Might take 10+ stamina bars though.

Hearthfires soak 5, so you need more than 25 strength to damage one.

Really? I recently destroyed one with 21 strength... oh wait, I had a pickaxe equipped. Nevermind then.
