Revenge can be a powerful motivator to play. Seeing it fulfilled is rather rewarding too.
Or you could simply learn from your mistakes and rebuild while trying to avoid similar outcomes. Defending yourself generally is possible in this game. You just have to be careful and educated about it.

Alot of long posts here eh? anyways, your best bet is to travel to the outers, but not north. east west or south is good. stay off of the river, but not so far you cant get to it quickly. when I first got to where I was, I was by myself and didnt have much time to play. It took me 7 days to finish my palisade and no one ever bothered me.

[edit]
also you gotta watch out for shit heads like that. they are everywhere...

There's a difference between a guy with palisades and an actual village.

There should be perk for peacefull players. You can buy him for LP and no one player can kill you.
But if you get this you can't learn "Rage, Treespasing, Thief & Vandalism," skill. Yeah other players can still treespass/steal/destroy but they can't kill you.

Alright congrats you experienced the true HnH. Now this s where you have a fork in the road and most choose either the red pill or the blue pill. Do you A rage quit because what little work you had taken from you, or B do you pick your now dead player as a ancestor start with some of your stats and move on and do bigger and better things?

People die in real life and they don't get a second chance.
In HnH you do get a second chance, and a third, and fourth you get the point.

My advice suck it up cut your losses make a new character and just watch out and always be cautious.
My motions are swift as a eagle, on my worst day I am still Lethal. No challenge, only start me when you learn the ripples of a butterflies heartbeat.

what avu said. game is in still in alpha and has some serious flaws. if you dont feel this is acceptable you can always check back a few months later to see what changes devs have made
