And yeah, I like waterskins, although I only use them when I do specialized tasks that I know drain stamina. Usually I'll just keep my handy flask around if I'm out in the field, so the extra inventory slot can be used for foragables or materials or ammo or something.

I like how my inventory, when I have sacks and merch robe on, can hold exactly the same amount of stuff as a large chests when I'm carrying my sword, shield and waterskin in it

Not really. It just means that you would have to choose if you want that extra vertical bar or not before you set out.

Waterflask is 2L, if waterskins were 5L, then there would be no point to flasks, because anyone who carries around water knows it's importance, and getting 150% more water for the cost of 1 extra inventory space is not that much of a cost. That's a lot more work you can do, a lot quicker hunger depletion, and in general much faster activity with less mouse clicks. (And the easier of the 2 products to produce since you don't need to wait for leather to tan.)
