Pidgin used to be able to take XMPP messages and route them to your SMS via google calendar. Sadly, the plugin no longer works.

pidgin is a multichat client and does xmpp, irc, and a host of other standard im protocols.

download pidgin, go to accounts, manage accounts, add, change the protocol to irc, enter the username you want to use, enter irc.synirc.net as the server, and press add.

then go to buddies, add chat, make sure your irc account is selected, type #haven for channel. check the box for autojoin, and press add
