Boar/bear/herd animal fights would be cool, though difficult to set up. By this I mean pvp with animals also in the ring. This would hopefully be better than two people standing next to each other until one get knocked out.

Yes.

Might also stage events where there is an 'arena master' and any spectators can try fighting him for a small price.
Every time the arena master wins, he gets the prize instead, so being arena master would be profitable.

Might have such a solution, but i'd prefer if people were honest with this. ^^

I don't think I would consider this. Team on team and FFA are definite possibilities. as well as scenarios.

the location would be kept secret as long as possible to make it harder to watch the match without paying, but it wouldn't be a very long XR jump from nople and signs would be distributed.

I'd definitely watch and gamble, might not participate at first for safety reasons but if it gains a good reputation, I'm sure I'd be willing to go into the arena.

Also, maybe supplying the armor and weapons (just bronze stuff of a consistent quality) would be a good idea to try and balance it a bit. I wouldn't want to waste my good gear fighting in an arena!

sounds like a really cool thing, and like everyone here, it has to be more than 1on1 which is boring to watch. and why no herd fights? wouldnt be too hard to set up if its surrounded by grassland. how about an "auroch chase"? new spawn chars have to run for their lives all nacked with 20 aurochs behind them, having to reach things first, and they can block each other. could be a lot of fun things in the course:
u could first split the aurochs in different "building sign boxes" by doing the first step of the taming process so u have them on your rope. the chars get chased by aurochs on course 1 having to avoid obstacles/getting blocked, while the other group of aurochs will outrun them and hit them from the side/be in front of them if they are faster. or put baskets all over the place, some have tee in it some dont. if the chars are played by reputable players who wont rigg it, all the viewers can gamble on it!
