Organization, not aggroing boars and bears, keeping your livestock from running off, taming said livestock ( not sure about this one, can aurochsen and mouflon bust open fenceposts too?), preventing cheap newbie theives from getting on your property...

So can boars. And most likely foxes (haven't extensively tested it). The thing is, they don't see you in the first place to do so.

Animals don't spawn on claims, which is slightly more advanced but helps. If they spawn inside it, well, that sucks, but you shouldn't be in there with them anyway. (I actually had this happen on my first day. I just took a lap around the grasslands and waited for it to despawn.)

Since you seem to be bullheaded on the matter, you're right - the stick fence isn't exactly a paragon of usefulness.

Because it's a stick fucking fence. But every bit counts in these critical early moments.
