That is still possible I guess. When it is -5/+2 as soon as you hit your max soil q then improving soil would give you a speed boost compared to others.

Meh, it'll still be all about botting up 1000 farming, and starting playing early into the server.

Wasn't the seed prayer removed though?

That would have been us then, yes. But when you are only able to raise them by 2 points each generation that will make a huge difference. Still the same result though after enough time I guess.

Yeah, just saying that it'll make zero difference if you got q100 or q10 soil after a couple of months. So we're back to where we were.

I don't really see much of a difference there in all honesty. People would just use hq soil nodes as a way to quickly get their crops up in quality, then they'd plant crops inside their plots or their village's public farms. It's actually a big relief that we can lay out our villages normally without having to either settle on a very high quality soil node or making separate farm villages as I know this idea was what made a lot of people quit this world. Although I guess fertilizers could have offered an alternative. Then again many players may see fertilizers as making farming too tedious (assuming it would have to be applied to each tile after every harvest). Tedium is something that tends to ruin many games, making the game less fun.

Anyway, soil quality still matters a lot for trees, so it's still highly useful to have a ql100 soil spot

Nah, nothing wrong with being able to plant good crops on crap soil, just don't like that you can raise them there. As it is no, q100 soil will just have a faster start, but you'll only be like 40 points behind if you work at the same pace on q10 soil, which is really not much when we're talking q500+ crops.

not really, theres no guarantee they would have added that
