What's the difference between (neo)heathenism and heathenism?

Neoheathenism is what christians refer to when they say heathen its connotation is someone of very different religious views like Asatru but heathenism is what some early members of Asatru refer to themselves as because they havent found the word Asatru or they just simply find it to their liking

The game is based largely on Germanic, Norse, and Scandinavian mythology and history, so it's natural that you might find snippets of what you believe in here, as from my understanding, it's a revival of those things.
