Either you don't have full change and peacful or you keep losing agro on the bear.

Thats a point..killed 5 bears, and because im alone most of the time the bloody things run away and occasionaly i have to find them.
Thanks though, i didnt realise a loss of agro reduced the lp gain.

You can solo a bear if you have 20MM and a decent Q sling. Takes awhile but it can be done. I recommend you have a travelers sack to carry extra ammo.

Actually you can do it with 10MM and Q10 sling. And a boulder nearby.

Dont know if this is relevant, but if I mess up and take longer it seems to give me more lp, First boar I ever killed I spent about half an hour punching the damn thing and trying out all different moves to work out the combat system, and it gave me 11,500 lp at the end of it. As I have improved the lp has gone way down. Is it connected? I dunno... just putting it out there

I think the LP gain is based of damage dealt, and that is why de-aggro'ing decreases LP because the damage dealt was from the LAST battle/encounter, thus it might as well have been a different person.

Yay! I'll add myself to this celebration, today I killed my first bear with 66 melee combat! lvl10 one, just 18k lp, but was GREAT
