I'm pretty sure you're the one I got them from. :3=

Yeah, that might actually be a good idea. PVP immunity for a few days.

..Or just disable criminal acts altogether for a while, but then there wont really be much to steal...aside from..branches?

Guy one starts building a settlement in a nice location.

Guy two comes along and builds a claim over it.

Guy one can't do anything.

Good idea, in theory.

I thought of that a while ago. I was thinking more for the sake of those in other time zones and with jobs... give everyone a chance to spread out from the RoB and make everything permanent illegal for 24 hours.

Sure Delfink, but what if Guy One doesn't have the skill?
Surprise.

Or what if Guy one doesn't have the materials he needs to make the claim pole when finding it?

Then boohoo Guy One is shit out of luck.

Maybe if there was a sensible system to destroy claims we wouldn't have to start slipping down this incomprehensible and exploitable slope, hemming and hawing and tossing out arbitrary and artificial quick-fix solutions.

You mean if the rest of the community spent time thinking about the other affects that their suggestions would have on the game problems like this wouldn't arise?
But how ever could we convince hordes of badly informed people to stop making terrible suggestions that don't work?

What can guy one currently do about such a situation? He can kill guy two, but his claim will still be there. Whatever he does, he'll never get his settlement back. This is why I think that any claim destruction system is a horrible idea, unless it's tied to (in)activity of the claim holder.
