I have my reservations about the curiosities system but kudos to the developers for following THEIR vision and having the balls to make major changes and experiment.

WoW is rotting mainly because the developers thought the message boards were anything close to a fair approximation of the playerbase. For years they scrambled around trying to keep up with the entitlements players thought they had and ended up with an tissuepaper-thin game.
