пошёл на хуй! - Polite phrase, such as you were greeting a friend. Not sure what it literally means in English, sorry. Closest I can translate to is "I like you!"

For typing, you switch to Russian keyboard settings and type:

gji`k yf [eq!

I think OP was probably making a joke, since anyone with a Cyrillic key board or the knowledge of how to fake one would prolly be able to figure out that the phrases were a bit off.

OP, how do you say...

"Hey, that's my boat!"

"Your sister is very pretty. Is she married?"

"BEAR!!!"

"Is this where I get the highq clay?"

"Well, I don't know who killed him."

"I didn't kill him"

"I think this guy killed him!"

"It was probably.... the Goons/Something Awful/one of the Devs/another Russian."

"Hey, where did all the trees go?"

"BOAR!"

"FOX!"

"DEER!"

"RABBIT!"

"RUN FOR YOUR LIFE"

"I will trade one ant larvae for three silk fibers or two ant empresses"

"Would you take a cone cow instead?"

"Just a moment, I have to make it."

"We will be good friends!"

"My sister is a virgin."

"She has all her teeth. Works hard. Doesn't eat much."

"Why don't you want to trade?"

"My mother is a what???!"

I highly suggest that you use a translator, since you'r sure what you say is really the true meaning.

Ooh! Let me translate these! (Yeah, ill even do that mostly seriously. There is gonna be alot of slang and obscenities. But it just makes these phrases easier for russians to comprehend. Trust me.

"Hey, that's my boat!" - Не трожь мою лодку!
"Your sister is very pretty. Is she married?" - А твоя сестра ничего. Я б вдул.
"BEAR!!!" - МЕДВЕЕЕЕЕДЬ!
"Is this where I get the highq clay?" - Я погляжу у вас тут хорошая глина?
"Well, I don't know who killed him." - хз кто убил его.
"It was probably.... the Goons/Something Awful/one of the Devs/another Russian." - Но думаю это гуны/something awful/другой русский чувак.
"Hey, where did all the trees go?" - Ой, а где это все деревья?
"BOAR!" - КАБАНЧИК!
"FOX!" - ДА ЭТО Ж ЛИСА!
"RABBIT!" - КРОЛЬЧАТИНА!
"RUN FOR YOUR LIFE" - СЪЕБЫВАЕМ!
"I will trade one ant larvae for three silk fibers or two ant empresses" - Меняю бесполезных муравьев на все что у тебя есть.
"Would you take a cone cow instead?" - А может тогда ты хочешь эту поебень из шишки?
"Just a moment, I have to make it." - Ща, дай сделаю.
"We will be good friends!" - Давай дружить!
"My sister is a virgin." - Моя сестра - девственник.
"She has all her teeth. Works hard. Doesn't eat much." - Все зубы на месте. Хорошо работает. Мало ест.
"Why don't you want to trade?" - А может таки поторгуемся?
"My mother is a what???!" - А по ебалу?

Now you have complete arsenal of russian phrases at your disposal. All these have been translated specifically to be understood by Russian H&H players. Now you dont have an excuse for failing to communicate with them.
Also, you probably owe me a few ant empresses.

The country in question is Canada

The story given to school children is that a French missionary arriving in the New World and trying to communicate with the locals by sign language pointed around himself and pantomimed "Whaddya call this place?" and the local thought he was pointing at a bark lodge and said "Kanata" which means "bark lodge".

But of course it's perfectly possible that he pointed at the outhouse and the scholars are suppressing the fact that there is yet another Maliseet word meaning "smelly latrine" which is also pronounced very similarly.

kanata means the village, but you kinda get the idea. The natives were telling them to go to the village, however the language barrier made them think this entire land was called canada

Szat wrote:Haven and Hearth has an appeal that cuts across cultures and borders! But sometimes the language barrier can be frustrating. Have you english speakers ever wished that you could have some phrases at hand for use in dealing with Russian players, without the obvious delays and stilted language that accompany google translation? Never fear! I have compiled a list of useful phrases in written in fluent Russian!

Привет - Hello!

Милая моя - My Friend

сколько вам лет? - Are you from around here?

скажите пожалуйста, где туалет - Your village is very nice.

Я мечтаю о том дне, когда мы станем одной семьёй - Please, don't use that battering ram on my palisade.

Ты выйдешь замуж за меня? - Would you like to trade?

За базар ответишь - Thank you very much.

Вали отсюда! - Goodbye! (lit "Take Care")

Please, feel free to request other useful phrases in this thread!

One of these things just doesn't belong here, one of these things just isn't the same.
