I think this is pretty neat actually, there are a bunch of Italian runestones near my cabin.

Yes, there are quite a bunch of Italians playing H&H. I'm Italian myself and was kinda worried about them. Usually italian players are assholes on the internet, but the few I've met seem to be nice guys.

See, that's nice, It's not the country it's the language that bothers me, these forums are English only, so I'm worried if there'll be a huge language gap.

Also, You guys are nuts, the Official Language of H&H is Java  .

Hmmm - I've only ever been on one game that forbade public commentary in the language of one's choice. It seems to me that if folks want to post in Italian, more power to them. I won't be replying to them - not speaking Italian - but I might well reply to folks who post in languages I do understand.

Also, the game seems to be splitting into groups who play only with their own group, except for a few folks handling public relations and trade. Only those people really need to know more English than one needs to understand the game itself.

Lojban FTW! And err... I had something else to say... AHA!

Tera Nova walled off my road to the nearest clay source! I assume they speak Italian due to the Italian runestone-thingies, but that doesn't really have anything to do with them walling off MY road. -_-

I would like to announce that the City of Brodgar has had numerous trades with the Italian community within H&H and found all of our interactions to be completely satisfactory both on a language level, a politeness level and in terms of mutual benefit derived from trade.

On behalf of The City I would like to wish our Italian allies the greatest success and longevity within the second world of H&H.

What's teh difference between using a foreign language and a community specific cipher for markings. My village did this for several of our crossroads so that only we knew what led where.

Hint: You can use babelfish to decipher their markings but not ours. =)

Give it up, there's no way to police language other than manually.

"Eller hur ska det vara svenska"

Just a friendly survival tip from your local Grammar Gestapo: It might help if you at least write your native language idiomatically correct before you say that. "Eller hur" does not function as an adverb, but merely as a sentence-final postfix interjection -- almost exactly in the way you can use "Right?" in English (your mistakes in which (your/you're confusion, invalid capitalization and missing commas) I will leave in this passing remark).
