Dunno man, I'd prefer tin nowadays, abacuses are the shit. I'd actually value tin more than bronze ;)

And yeah, coin interface is all kinds of fucked up.

sure abacus is great but it also requires bronze (or iron), and studying one doesn't preclude studying a steed

Maybe if we get a coin pouch so it doesn't stack up as much. Unless I miss understand how some of the more specific parts of coins work.

and they were bronze coins. i think bronze is even better for coins now because if you have more coins than you want you can turn it in to a bronze steed and put it in your brain for LP

the only problems with coins are the small logistical annoyances

Add a general tax onto your normal estimated prices going towards logistics.

This. Just have a slot for up to 100 of each kind of coin you can get. I'd say an infinite number, but then people would convert all their bars into coins for storage (assuming restoring Q of those bars isn't an issue).

What's wrong with tin, copper, and iron bars? Granted that anyone can get metal now, but I'm sure there's still a lot of hermits that could care less about mining. I think it'd be easier to just stick stuff in a vendor stand and sell it than with the forum trading. Of course, that assumes that the stands get a complete rework and can be used to trade anything.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

Resurrecting from the grave. I was about to make a post about this myself, but found this, and I believe it's about time we re-opened discussion about a standardized currency, it's been almost two months. Silver is much more common now days, almost every major city has it, but after we all have monocles there's really nothing left to do with it until we get gold. So this is why we should start trading silver coins, along with bronze as was stated earlier in the thread. With a standardized currency trading will be much simpler, and this will allow weaker player to obtain small amounts of silver instead of having to buy a whole nugget/bar.

i like coins, i cant be arsed to make em, but i'd love to use em to trade if i could get a free coinpress :P
forget 100 points for a nugget, howbout 10 points for a coin?? XD
on the other hand i've never had to deal with the annoying logistics either ... but i doubt its any worse than having a cabinet for coins :P
loftar: New hair styles? Really? Seeing how Jorb never gets off his lazy ass to draw some, I almost want to add them to the game proper.
