You lose hunger healing yourself. Also it's not that hard to leave your self afk overnight when you're ever so barely in the starving range without noticing it and end up dead. (I've done it before )

i was taming a sheep, got bored, went to sleep. if i actually cared about my character at this point I would've been logged off because I still have a tiny shred of common sense. Oh well, back to digging on Terraria...
