That's easy. We can make a simple law stating something to the effect of "for every three trees cut down, four must be planted."
I'm sure that the citizenry would respect that law; It would mean that whenever you set out to cut some trees, you also fill a herbalist table and when you return, plant those sprouts. The imbalance is to ensure that a backlog of growing and grown trees is produced, so that soon the forest will be refilled and resources can be gathered from it.

In the short term, it looks like the road east of brogdor is lined with unwanted cut trees- simply acres of felled timber. Even stumps left in the ground. Someone with a cart or two could collect a lot of that.
Surprise.

I can see Brodgar working for other reasons. As some villages move out into the great wilderness beyond, spawning at the RoB is really their best method of trading that doesn't take eight hours. Brodgar could be a pretty nice trading and meeting hub for these outer villages. The center of an ecomony perhaps?

Me and my group of friends fully support Brodgar. It's good to have a place where people can call home and learn how things work. Once me and my friends get the ball rolling on our settlement we'll be glad to trade. We're out in one of the new supercells (we don't know which one.. we just wandered around until we found a good spot) though, so it could take a while.

My outpost will be greatly willing to support (and represent) Brodgar.

Actually, nope. People are following the zoning plan, and its coming along nicely. Not everybody living here is new for that matter.
