I had 2 thoughts when I saw this.
1) I've been out school for way too long
2) I've been thinking about poopy diapers and soggy boobs too much lately

"Supergrid" isn't a measure of distance though, it's a measure of area. So to say something is "3 supergrids" away, can be disambiguated as being a straight line distance that AT MOST 3 supergrids could fit in between.

It's impossible to draw a straight line from any one point on the world map to any other point on the world map in which you can fit 7 supergrids. (Unless you rotate the supergrids I guess)

EDIT: If I live in the northwest most corner of a SG and there's a place in the northwest most corner of the SG directly southeast of me, I say that's 1 SG away, not 1.4 SGs, but maybe that's just me.

for that to be true though they would have to be LITERALLY at the two furthest points also

People use it as a measurement of distance.

On the world map when you click "New Ruler" the length of the ruler is shown in units of SG if it's longer than 5000 tiles.

My fucking God. Do you just HAVE to be so educated on the history of mathematics AND apply it to nubs, sab? I mean. I know I been gone a while but a BEFORE CHRIST antiquated theory shouldn't be necessary for nubs if it's required for BASIC MATH, AMIRITE?
